Terms for using HoursLeft

Last updated November 5, 2026. HoursLeft is operated by SHABSAND. Questions: hoursleft@shabsand.com.

1. The service

HoursLeft is a software tool for tracking retainer hours. It applies the contract terms you enter (monthly hours, rollover caps and expiry, overage rates and term changes) to the time entries you import or add, and shows balances, overage amounts and client statements. By creating an account or using HoursLeft you agree to these terms.

2. Check the numbers before you bill

HoursLeft calculates from the data and terms you provide. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice and does not interpret your contracts for you. You are responsible for checking balances, overage amounts and invoice lines before you bill a client or share a statement.

3. Your account

You sign in with one-time links sent to your email address, so keep access to that mailbox secure. You are responsible for activity in your account. Statement links you create can be opened by anyone who has them; share them only with the people they are meant for, and turn them off when they are no longer needed.

4. Your data

You keep all rights to the data you put into HoursLeft and confirm that you are allowed to use it there. We use it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. You can export it or delete your account at any time from Account → Your data.

5. Plans and billing

The Free plan includes 1 retainer client with every feature. Pro costs $19 per month or $190 per year (US dollars) and includes unlimited retainer clients. Pro is billed through PayPal and renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from Account; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for and is not charged again. If you go back to Free with more clients than it includes, they all stay readable and editable, but adding more needs Pro. If prices change, the new price applies only from your next billing period after we tell you.

6. Refunds

If Pro isn't what you expected, email hoursleft@shabsand.com within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full. Later renewals aren't refunded, but you can cancel at any time and keep Pro until the period ends. If you were charged because of a fault on our side, we'll make it right.

7. Acceptable use

Don't try to access other people's accounts or data, probe or overload the service, upload malicious files, reverse-engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep HoursLeft available and accurate but can't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change or remove features. If we ever shut HoursLeft down, we'll give account holders reasonable notice and time to export their data.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HoursLeft and SHABSAND are not liable for lost revenue, billing disputes with your clients, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll update the date above and tell account holders by email before it applies. Continuing to use HoursLeft after that means you accept the updated terms.
